Shipping & Delivery

At Yakon Auctions, we are committed to ensuring that every item is handled with care and delivered as safely and efficiently as possible. We offer shipping coordination as a convenience to our clients while maintaining flexibility for independent arrangements.

Shipping Options

Buyers may choose from in-house shipping coordination for eligible items, third-party professional shippers, or local pickup by appointment. Our team is happy to assist in coordinating shipping based on the nature of each lot.

After Payment

Once your invoice has been fully paid, our team will review your items and prepare shipping arrangements or provide a quote. If you choose to use a third-party shipper, you must notify us in advance. Please include your invoice number, lot number(s), and the name of the authorized shipping company in your communication. Items will only be released once authorization has been received.

Professional Packing & Handling

All items handled by Yakon Auctions are packed with appropriate care and materials to ensure safe transit. Depending on the nature of the property, we may use protective packing materials, reinforced packaging, or custom wooden crating for fragile or high-value works. Our goal is to ensure that each item is properly prepared for shipment.

Processing Time

Please allow up to three (3) weeks after payment for packing and shipment preparation. This timeframe allows us to maintain careful handling standards, coordinate efficient shipments, and ensure appropriate packaging for each lot. Delivery timelines may vary depending on the carrier and destination.

Shipping Costs & Insurance

All packing, handling, shipping, and insurance costs are the responsibility of the buyer. We strongly recommend insurance for all shipments, which can be arranged upon request.

Third-Party Shipping

If you choose to use a third-party shipping company, Yakon Auctions does not endorse or guarantee any specific provider. Buyers are responsible for all arrangements and communication. We are not liable for any damage or loss caused by third-party handling or transport. Shippers must schedule pickup in advance, present a paid-in-full invoice, and inspect items at the time of collection.

Local Pickup & Storage

Local pickup is available by appointment. Items must be collected or shipping arranged within thirty (30) days after the auction. Storage fees of $10 per day per lot may apply after this period, and all storage fees must be paid prior to release. Items remaining beyond this timeframe may be considered abandoned property and subject to resale or disposal in accordance with our Terms.

Special Handling Notice

Framed items will not be removed from their frames under any circumstances without prior written authorization. If a buyer or their designated shipper requests removal of an artwork from its frame, a signed Release of Liability form must be completed and returned before the item can be released.

Removing an artwork from its frame may result in damage or compromise its structural integrity and long-term preservation. Yakon Auctions assumes no responsibility or liability for any damage resulting from such requests. A printable Release of Liability form is available upon request.

Risk of Loss

Risk of loss transfers to the buyer immediately upon the fall of the hammer. Yakon Auctions is not responsible for damage during transit, shipping delays, or carrier-related issues. Shipping is arranged solely as a courtesy to our clients.
