Payment & Invoices
Thank you for participating in our auction. At Yakon Auctions, we aim to provide a secure, efficient, and straightforward payment process for all buyers.
Invoices
Invoices are typically issued within two (2) business days following the auction and will be sent to the email address associated with your bidder registration. All purchased items must be paid in full before any property can be released for pickup or shipment.
Payment Deadline
All payments must be completed within seven (7) days of the invoice date. Timely payment ensures prompt processing and helps avoid delays, order cancellation, or additional actions in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept payment in U.S. Dollars (USD) by credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover), bank wire transfer, PayPal, cash, and certified or cashier’s check. A processing fee of 3.5% applies to U.S. card payments, and 4.5% applies to international card and PayPal transactions. Domestic wire transfers incur a $30 fee, and international wire transfers incur a $50 fee.
Payment Processing & Release
For larger invoices, bank wire transfer is recommended. To avoid card processing fees, buyers may choose to pay by check or wire. Items paid by cashier’s check will be held for up to ten (10) business days after deposit to allow for bank clearance and verification of funds. All items will only be released once payment has been fully received and cleared.
Buyer’s Premium & Sales Tax
A buyer’s premium of 28% will be added to the hammer price of each lot. Applicable sales tax will be charged in accordance with Maryland law. Sales tax is calculated on the total invoice amount, including the buyer’s premium, and will apply to items picked up in Maryland or shipped within the state. Buyers are responsible for any applicable taxes on out-of-state shipments. Tax-exempt buyers must provide a valid resale or exemption certificate prior to invoicing, as sales tax cannot be removed afterward without proper documentation.
Purchases made through third-party online bidding platforms, such as LiveAuctioneers or Invaluable, may be subject to additional service fees charged directly by those platforms in accordance with their own terms and policies.
Cash Payment Reporting
To comply with U.S. regulations, certain cash transactions may be reported to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and FinCEN. Transactions involving cash or a combination of cash and cashier’s checks exceeding $10,000 may require reporting and additional identification. Non-cash payments such as wire transfers and credit card transactions are not considered reportable cash transactions.
Important Notice
By placing a bid, all bidders acknowledge that they have read and agreed to our Terms & Conditions. All bids are legally binding, and all sales are final.
